The bookshop was large and had plenty to enjoy. It was a meeting place for people and I bought the red ink for my seal there.

I am preparing to come home now and thinking about my experiences here

What have I gained?

Dedication, friendliness and skill that the technicians have offered me. Since university, I have never consistently worked creatively for myself and become immersed in it to such an extent. I will bring much of the inspiration back with me to my life in the UK, and continue with the pieces that I have started here, as well as sharing as much as I can of the knowledge that I have gained. It has been better than I could have imagined.

The printbase is a magnificent facility for artists! They are so meticulous here; they print editions for artists from all over China, and internationally. We residents are part of their scheme to heighten printmaking and sustain an international profile.

I have been a resident in Printmaker’s Heaven.

I have been helped to record my progress here by Chrys (who has put my words and pictures day by day on this website), and by Phil White, of Radio Humberside, who has been updating his radio audience with my progress, interviewing me by telephone and broadcasting my progress, helping me record the art and friendships I have made.
