My house
The wooden furniture appeared on the stone area outside my house, but I haven’t taken advantage of it as I like to work! It is lovely to see natural materials used everywhere in the village.
The type of house is called a Hakka House, and has bars that close across the front door so that the inner solid doors can be left open. Everything is made of red wood here. Every piece of furniture in the house, has an angular and solid design. I have many chairs and tables, some in each room, and I have, wait, let me count, I have nine rooms downstairs, and there are four sets of table and chairs. It is tiled throughout with terracotta tiles and white walls, with doors which open in the centre, hinged in the floor and top of the door - no metal hinges or screws to be seen - all dowels and angles.
