Out and about...
There are images here of the fields, their ditches, which are the equivalent of an English hedgerow perhaps? There are gardeners throughout the village who tend the plants and trees. I am constantly amazed by the sudden blossoming, occasional ‘culling’ and severe pruning that takes place quite suddenly sometimes, a flowering hedge will halve in size, or a swathe of fading Iris disappear. It is amazing to walk along the same route and see the changes as the month unfolds. Always a pleasure as in this heat and humidity (always) everything grows very fast and well.
There is a pond/reservoir outside the village area that the artists live in, and it has many fish. This was a rather large one, eating casually!
The fisherman was on his way home at the end of the day. The pond is not large, but full of fish. The fish seem easy to catch, some fishermen use a woven basket that they push into the water, that has a hole in the base, so they can pull the fish out. They wade into the ditches. I was too polite to take a photo!
